So, how I was involved in landscapes?
Well, My hobby at first was computer graphics - that was play with Photoshop and CorelDraw. Then I got Bryce. Easy dirigible 3d objects, terrains, skys... But in created images was lack of realism or that was achiewed with hard work.
One day in one of internet mags I found a description of "Terragen". I did not believe, when saw example pictures. It was like a photo! But I found, that it's computer generated landscapes with super realistic skys. And a second surprise was, that software is free! And third: it's small! Thence I was spellbounded by virtual landscapes. It allows me discover My own worlds and, because I'm a Science Fiction & Fantasy fan too, I discover mostly alien and fantasy worlds.
Last Terragen picture was done in Autumn 2001... It has too many borders for creative mind :( Terragen gives Me good shcool of landscape composition, lighting, texturing and POV - that helps Me very much in MojoWorld!
I tried one more time Bryce 5, then tried Vue d'Esprit 4, then World Builder 3.0, but my heart doesn't belong there. In the best case I was able to create one sheet (well many, no matter) of terrain and build my island. But I wanted more - building worlds was my call! :)
So in the Year 2001 I become a beta tester of promising planet scale landscape modeling software MojoWorld
In May 2003 I was hired by Doc Mojo as a member of Pandromeda Inc. team. For a current moment I'm more freelancer.
But I'm still working with this excellent software hand by hand with many other people all around world - to bring out unbelievable power of procedural modeling!
Name of the site - TerraEscape - shows my tryings to escape from this planet - whatever to other solar system or dimension or magic reality. Maybe You have that chance too? Just push the button :)
